James Healy and the Healy and Son Dumpster Rental Jackson crew at the Jackson yard

Locally owned, not a broker

You are calling Jackson, not a call center

Healy and Son Dumpster Rental started in 2011 with one used roll-off truck and a rented bay, because James Healy spent years running remodel crews and got tired of haulers that did not show and invoices that did not match the quote.

We still own every truck and every container, and we still dispatch them ourselves from Greenway Drive. That is why we can say yes to a same-day drop, and why the person on the phone can picture your street before you have finished describing it.

  • Owner-operated since 2011 — 15 years on these roads
  • Our own trucks, our own boxes, our own drivers
  • The quoted number is the invoiced number
  • Licensed & insured in Mississippi, certificates on request

How it works

Five steps, one phone call

  1. 1

    Call and describe the job

Tell us what you are throwing out and where it is going. We will tell you the right size — even if it is smaller than you thought.

  2. 2

Get a flat rate on the spot

Delivery, the rental window, the tonnage allowance and pickup in one number. No teaser rate, no surprise invoice.

  3. 3

We deliver and protect the surface

Boards go down under the rails before the box does. The driver walks the placement with you if you are home.

  4. 4

    Fill it on your schedule

Standard rental windows suit most jobs, and extensions are cheap if the project runs long. Just call.

  5. 5

One call and it is gone

We pick up, sweep the spot, and haul it to a licensed Mississippi facility with the recyclables pulled out.

What neighbors say

Real jobs across Jackson, Hinds and Rankin County. Names shortened for privacy.

The 20 yard was in the driveway by seven with boards already down, and it came through a full tear-off on our Belhaven house without leaving a mark on the drive. Second roof I have used them on.

Dave M.Belhaven, Jackson · Roofing Tear-Off

We had a hard closing date on my mother's house in Fondren and they swapped the box twice in one weekend without me having to chase anybody. They were kind about it too, which mattered more than I expected.

Karen S.Fondren, Jackson · Estate Cleanout

I run two crews between here and Flowood and I have stopped calling anyone else. The quoted number is the invoiced number, and the swap-outs actually happen when they say they will.

Tony R.Flowood, MS · Construction

Called on a Friday afternoon after a storm dropped a tree across the carport. James had a 15 yard on-site that same day and talked me out of the 30 I thought I needed.

FAQs

Dumpster rental in Jackson — common questions

The questions we field every day. Anything not covered here, just call — we will give you a straight answer.

How much does a dumpster rental cost in Jackson?

It comes down to the size you take, how long you keep it, how heavy the load is and what is in it. A light household cleanout in a 15 yard sits at the affordable end; a 30 yard of mixed construction debris costs more because disposal is charged by weight at the scale. We quote a flat rate covering delivery, the rental period, a tonnage allowance and pickup, so the number you are told is the number you are invoiced — no teaser rate and no surprise fuel or environmental line items. Our cost guide breaks down every driver. Call (769) 246-8432 for a firm number in about two minutes.

Do I need a permit for a dumpster in Jackson?

Not if it sits on your own driveway. If it has to go in the street or a public right-of-way, check with the City of Jackson Public Works Department first — requirements can carry real lead time, so it is not something to arrange same-day. Requirements change and each municipality in the metro sets its own rules, so confirm the current process for your specific town — Pearl, Clinton, Ridgeland, Flowood, Madison and Brandon each have their own city hall. Our Jackson-area permit guide covers all of it.

How fast can you deliver?

Call before noon on a weekday and same-day is usually achievable — our yard is on Greenway Drive in South Jackson, so the truck starts here rather than driving in from out of town. Next-day is almost always available and costs the same. A permit requirement, severe weather or a truck already committed can change the answer, and we will tell you that honestly rather than promise a slot we cannot hold. See same-day dumpster rental.

What size dumpster do I need?

Most Jackson-metro homeowners land on a 15 or 20 yard. Two things flip that. Heavy material — concrete, brick, clay soil, block, dirt — goes in a 10 yard every time, because you hit the legal weight limit long before the box is full. And plaster-and-lath from an older Jackson-area house weighs roughly three times what drywall does, which catches people out constantly in this metro. Describe the job on the phone and we will size it, including talking you down if a smaller box will do. Full detail in our sizing guide.

What can't go in the dumpster?

This is law rather than company policy. Mississippi keeps yard waste, tires, lead-acid batteries, most electronics, used oil and household chemicals out of ordinary landfill loads, and MDEQ publishes the current guidance. Asbestos never goes in a container under any circumstances; it needs a licensed abatement contractor, and it is a genuine consideration in a metro with this much older housing stock. Full list in our Mississippi disposal guide.

Can you deliver after a storm, and what changes?

Yes — storm and flood cleanup is a steady part of our work, especially after Mississippi's spring severe-weather season and summer thunderstorms. What changes: we need a reasonably clear, level pad and safe truck access, since downed limbs or standing water can block a delivery; wet debris from a flooded space adds real weight fast, so tell us up front if that is what you are loading; and a box in the street needs the same right-of-way sign-off as any other delivery. It is all in our storm cleanup guide.

My driveway is narrow or hard to access. Will that be a problem?

Often not, but it is the right question to ask, especially on older streets closer to downtown Jackson. A roll-off truck needs roughly 60 feet of straight approach, 10 to 12 feet of width and clear overhead room while the box is tipping, and a tight lot, low tree limbs or on-street parking can eat into all three. Sometimes the answer is a smaller container, sometimes it is a different placement spot, and occasionally it is honestly no. Tell us the address and we will know most streets already. See our guide to tight-driveway placement.

Are you a broker, and which towns do you serve?

We own the trucks and the containers and dispatch them ourselves from South Jackson — when you call you get someone who can picture your street. Brokers resell your job to whoever is cheapest that day, which is how you end up with a no-show and an invoice that does not match the quote. We cover Jackson, Byram, Terry, Florence, Richland, Pearl, Flowood, Clinton, Crystal Springs, Star, Raymond, Brandon, Ridgeland, Madison and Pelahatchie across Hinds, Rankin, Madison and Copiah counties.
